I'm still pretty jet lagged even though I slept on the plane and stayed awake until 8 or 9 last night. All four girls in the room woke up at 1:30 because someone dropped a laptop from the top bunk (a truly terrifying event). Everyone else went back to sleep within the next few hours but not yours truly. I was up until it was time to get ready for class at 7:30.
We have class in the local church building. It's lovely and looks more like a temple than a chapel. We're taking a Shakespeare class and a theatre class. But even 3 hours of class twice a week seems like way too much when you're in the greatest city on earth.
I went on the tube for the first time today! It is very confusing but I love it.
First tube ride!!
Then we went exploring around the theatre district and tried to decide what we wanted to see. The only problem with the theatre here is that there is far too much to experience in six weeks. I had some amazing curry at a delicious restaurant and we mosied around the shops. I am just obsessed with all of the tiny book shops. There are SO MANY and I just want to curl up in a corner and read everything. We also had some amazing ice cream that tasted like frozen whipped cream. I've decided that for the next six weeks, I'm not limiting myself. If I want something, I'm going to have it. We're walking enough that I'm not too concerned.
Just tubin it
Finally we went to see Big Ben. It is simply beautiful at night because it's all lit up. We saw the London Eye and Westminster Abbey as well but we didn't explore. There will be plenty of time for that.
London Eye
When I'm walking around the city I just burst out in this ridiculous smile because I can't believe I'm actually here. I'm in love with London.
